The Scent of Happiness

In celebration of the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, here's quick and simple recipe to rejuvenate the energies in and around your home, while making sure the space smells fantastically fresh for summer!

The minute you walk into someone’s home, you can tell how happy a household it is. Much of that is determined by the smell. A home with the fragrance of sugar cookies or a freshly baked pumpkin pie is one you will want to visit often. Similarly, a space redolent of lilies or tea roses is obviously one whose occupants take care to make their home beautiful to the eye and the other senses. There are lots of small things that we can do in terms of “energy maintenance” for our home. This recipe works wonders on you or anyone in your environment who might need a lift.

2 drops neroli oil

4 drops bergamot oil

4 drops lavender oil

2 drops rosemary oil

2 pints (1.2 liters) distilled water

spray bottle

Combine the essential oils, then add the mixture to the distilled water in a spray bottle. Spray the air while chanting:

Gloom and doom begone.

Bright energies abound!

Welcome, sweet spirits, into this house.

With harm to none.

So mote it be.
