3 essential oil blends to help sleep and relaxation

Use these 3 essential oil blends to help you relax after long days and sleep better at night.

A BLEND TO CALM SPIRIT

Blood orange and neroli both aid in calming the spirit and mind, especially if there are frustrations and agitations that are keeping you from feel joy and happiness. Set your intention to feel joy.

You will need

5-ml blending bottle

Jojoba oil

2 drops blood orange oil

2 drops neroli oil

Fill the bottle with 1 teaspoon (5 ml) jojoba oil, then add the blood orange and neroli oils and shake for a few moments.

Use the palm inhalation technique to inhale one drop of the oil blend.

 

Palm Inhalation Technique

This inhalation technique promotes relaxation and instigates the healing process. Gently massaging the palms of your hands activates the Pericardium 8 and Heart 8 acupressure points, both of which help to calm the mind and open our Heart energy, allowing us to become receptive to relaxation.

Put one drop of your chosen oil blend in the palm of your hand. Using your thumb or index finger, gently rub the oil into your palm for a few seconds..

Hold your hand, palm facing upward, about 4 inches (10 cm) away from your face. Slowly inhale through your nose to the count of six and then exhale completely through your mouth. Repeat three times. Yin and Yang are interdependent upon one another (you cannot have one without the other).

TRANQUILITY BATH

This meditative bath will help to ease nerves and calm the mind.

You will need

Small bowl

2 to 3 tablespoons (30 to 45 ml) liquid Castile soap (or you can use vegetable or jojoba oil)

2 drops geranium oil

2 drops palmarosa oil

2 drops sandalwood oil

 

Mix together the soap and essential oils in a small bowl.

Fill a bathtub with hot water, then add the soap mixture and swirl to mix well.

Get into the bath and soak in the water for about 20 minutes.

 

A SOOTHING NIGHTTIME BATH

This aromatic bath is beneficial for nervousness and sleeplessness. It’s ideal if you are apprehensive about a situation on the following day. This bath will open the Heart and calm the Shen.

 

You will need

Small bowl

2 drops frankincense oil

2 drops geranium oil

2 drops sandalwood oil

2 drops lavender oil

 

Mix together the soap and essential oils in a small bowl.

Fill a bathtub with hot water, then add the soap mixture and swirl to mix well.

Get into the bath and soak in the water for about 20 minutes.
